Cougles Recycling Inc.

About Us

We were established in the World War II era, at a time when goods needed to be used as efficiently and fully as possible. A time when reuse and recycling were not only beneficial but necessary. Charles Cougle began a door-to-door pickup service. He toted a small scale on the back of his personal truck to collect newspapers and corrugated from households. He would then deliver the materials in his own truck to a local mill.

As time passed, the mill would no longer accept such small quantities of material; they required the material to be baled. When faced with either ending his new sprouting business or making the needed adjustments, Charles purchased a baler and began to compact the material and delivered truck loads of bales to the mill. He used a four car garage located on his land to house the baler, but in time to come he would grow out of the facility and need to construct a larger building in which he could store his growing quantity of material and bales. The entire structure was built by hand-formed blocks. He used a hand truck and simple block and tackle to load the bales onto his vehicle.

Charles Cougle’s success was in a time when an agreement was sealed on a handshake, and doing what you promised was invaluable to your customers and your business. As his son Robert took over the family business, Cougle’s Recycling Inc. remained stead fast to those principles, as will generations to come. Customer focus is the very lifeblood of CRI. We treat every communication opportunity with the highest regard, respecting all people and treating them with the utmost importance . We have shown that we can achieve substantial growth while adding great value to the customer’s bottom line through customizing services to meet their varying needs and providing increased efficiency.

We are a full service-recycling center, which accepts all types of recyclable materials (paper, corrugated, plastics, glass, and non-ferrous metals) from a large variety of businesses, municipalities and individuals. Although we continue to focus on growth, our current customer base extends to thousands of area businesses, and dozens of municipalities and townships. We receive a large array of sorted and commingled materials, either picked up by our fleet or dropped off at our facility. All materials are then fully sorted, separated and shipped to mills to be processed and returned to a finished product. While our largest commodity is paper, we do also receive and process hundreds of tons of plastics monthly.

CRI has a full range of services available to fit whatever your need is, from the small home office to the largest of printeries, distribution centers, or national accounts. Not only do we offer every type of pickup service available, we also offer programs that can help you recycle the largest variety of material, all through one single vendor.

Cougles will do a full assessment of your operations using our countless years of experience and know how. We can help you to determine what materials you can recycle and the best way to process those materials. We will assist you in generating the largest amount of revenue in the most productive way possible. We know that recycling needs to make sense for your company both economically and logistically.
